A very merry cranberry Christmas punch
Wow your Christmas guests by presenting them with a glass of this delicious punch. It’s so unbelievably quick and easy to do you can literally throw together ten minutes before their arrival. If you can though, prep in advance to give the flavours time to infuse.
What you’re going to need:
- 1 litre cloudy apple juice
- 1 litre pear cider
- 1 litre cranberry and raspberry juice (you can use only cranberry juice, but it can be a little tart which is why I have included rasberry as it softens it slightly)
- fresh cranberries
- 2 cinnamon sticks
- 2 vanilla pods scored
- candy canes and straws are optional but finish it off beautifully
Slice your vanilla pod lengthways to release the loveliness within.
Chuck all the ingredients into a large pan and then lightly heat when your guests arrive. It must only simmer – don’t let it boil as you will burn away the alcohol content.
Once ready to serve, pour carefully into drinking glasses, or use clean jam jars like I did. Make sure your mix isn’t too hot cause we all know hot liquid risks glass breaking.
Decorate with some of the cranberries on top (but these won’t be nice to eat), and hang a little candy cane on the side. Serve to your guests for them to enjoy.
